During the practice of Transcendental Meditation (TM), blood flow to the brain increases and it receives more nutrition. The body experiences a state of deep rest and relaxation at the same time as high mental alertness. This means that TM provides more than just relaxation. It promotes deep peace and inner wakefulness at the same time, or to a unique state of "awake
rest."
The experience of awake rest triggers a host of neurophysiological and biochemical changes in your body, including a reduction in high blood pressure, a reduction in the galvanic response of the skin (indicative of deep physiological relaxation), a 30% reduction in cortisol (the stress hormone) and an increase in serotonin (the chemical brain that regulates mood and happiness).
Your body does this automatically as the brain functions in a more coordinated manner. And most importantly, these effects are cumulative: after twenty minutes of practice, the positive results of meditation persist for many hours.
We invite you to take an individual training course in Transcendental Meditation in your city!
